Weather Whiplash

Lately the weather has fluctuated so quickly, it’s basically given me whiplash.

It may sound a bit dramatic, but I’m being completely serious.  The weather has literally swung from 90 and sunny to 50 and rainy within the same week.  Quite frankly, my body doesn’t know how to deal with it.  Between the pollen in the air and the rapidly changing temps, my nose has been perpetually running – super attractive.  Nothing says chic like having to dig through your purse for a tissue.

Spring is normally fraught with changing temperatures, and rainy days (hello April showers and May flowers).  Every year around this time, I become my mother and complain often and loudly about how “I don’t know what to wear”.  Seriously though, what do you wear when you don’t know precisely what the weather will be like?  The other day I grabbed a jacket on the way out, and was then forced to carry the damn thing around while I sweated like a pig in nearly 80 degree weather.  In fact, the weather has changed so fast that some places still don’t have the air on.  Just think about walking in the sunshine and warm weather, and entering a store or restaurant that still has the heat on.  (I think most places have finally switched to AC)

I’ve determined that there is really just no winning.  My sweaters and long sleeves are mostly put away, and I’ve said a teary goodbye to my boots for the season.  However, most days still aren’t warm enough for those delightful summer dresses and tank tops.  Basically I’ve been living in gauzy or silky tops, carrying an umbrella, and dressing in layers.  And when it comes to shoes… I’ve said screw it and pulled out the sandals.
