After a summer full of warm nights with crisp rose, I’m ready for the cooler weather and heartier drinks that go along with it.
A Toast To Fall
I’m not going to profess to be much of a beer aficionado. In fact, I select beer glasses based on aesthetic value rather than their actual function (see how I used them in the pics?). I will say however that fall produces some delightful beers. With names like pumpkin, harvest, pecan, and autumn (just like my favorite word) – how can you not get all excited?! And did I mention the cider? As in hard cider; not like the thick delicious non alcohol drink, but more like a sparkling, alcohol version of apple juice. Needless to say, I’m a big fan.
Recently, I’ve tried a few of the selections: Abita’s Pecan Ale, Brooklyn Brewery’s Pumpkin Ale, Southern Tier Brewing Company’s Harvest Ale, and Doc’s Draft Hard Apple Cider. On the pumpkin ale, I put some brown sugar and cinnamon on the rim to enhance the pumpkin pie flavor. Personally, I try to have fun with it: I pull out some mini pumpkins, grab some soft pretzels, and grab some great accessories. And how cute are these coasters from Anthropologie? (see below) And the bottle opener? I really can’t help myself with the accessories.

The beer stein I used in the pictures is vintage but I linked a similar looking glass (Crate & Barrel Ittala Krouvi 20 oz. Beer Mug)
