Hello December

You know that feeling, when you look at the calendar, and have to do a double take – wondering where the time has gone?  Well that was me this morning.  I feel like every year, December creeps up on me, but it shouldn’t be such a shock.  We do have preparation – Halloween, Thanksgiving, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and weeks full of photos of fall foliage on Instagram.  Still, for some odd reason, seeing the last month of the year on the calendar is always a big jarring.

Like most people, I love the festivities the month brings: the lights, and decorations, the excuses to get dressed up, the infectious joy, and the spirit to give.  But I also like to use December to reflect; did I accomplish what I wanted to this year?  Did I achieve the goals I set for myself?  Of course a lot can change over the course of 12 months, but looking at where you were a year ago and where you are now can give you a lot of perspective.

There’s a sense of accomplishment at seeing some your goals come to fruition, and also an opportunity to work on some of the things that may have slipped your grasp.  At the beginning of the year, I wanted to make a commitment to post here - on the blog -  more often.  Unfortunately, somewhere in the shuffle of everything else, that got shoved to the bottom of my “to-do” list.  So now I’m correcting that.  Literally, right now.

Have you ever heard of blogmas? or maybe vlogmas?  Its the idea of posting every single day for the month of December.  Since I needed a kick in my behind, I decided blogmas would be the perfect way start posting regularly again.  So you can expect a brand new post, EVERY SINGLE DAY.  That’s 31 posts to get in the habit.  But it’s more than that; it’s practicing what I preach, and hopefully inspiring you to do the same.  I’m officially challenging you to pick one thing you wanted to work on that go neglected this year and try to work on it this month.  No matter how big or small, it’s committing to it that counts.
